The trench coat is a classic coat that every man and woman should have in their closet. It's the perfect in-between season coat that can be paired with almost any outfit. You can easily dress it up or down, there are not rules with this coat! Here's a fun fact I read about the classic trench:
"The trench coat was created to go to war in. Originally designed in 1895 for British officers fighting in the Boer War, the coat's current form was developed in 1914, for soldiers in WWI. It remains relevant 116 years after it was first designed.
Original military details that persist are the epaulettes, throat latch, hook and bar, back rain shield, the D-ring on the belt, the cuff straps and the storm flap on the right shoulder, which can button over the coat's wrap to keep the rain out. (Source: www.mrporter.com)
Pretty cool hey? Give your wardrobe a stylish update with a classic trench coat. It's an essential piece for this coming spring season. This particular jacket that I'm wearing in this photo is a vintage jacket my mother gave me from the early 80s. The jacket itself is still in pristine condition you would never be able to tell it's vintage, however I unfortunately can't read the brand of the coat. I love the beautiful top stitch detailing, the soft luxurious fabrication, double breasted lapel, the fabric belt and how this jacket is lightly lined. Next time you're on the hunt for a new spring or fall coat, consider the classic trench because I guarantee that it will be a coat that will be in rotation for many season to come.
