2. Hailee Steinfeld
3. Emma Stone
Ahh...weekend getaways are so lovely, aren't they? We all definitely need a weekend getaway this time of the year, especially with the cold weather we've been dealing with here in snowy Canada. In this edition on how to pack for a weekend getaway, I'll be showing you how to pack for a certain city - Las Vegas! My husband and I are trying to decide if we should go to LAS for a small getaway in the next coming weeks, so I thought why note do a blog post on what I'd pack if we did go! Now during this time of the year in Las Vegas, it's not as warm as you'd like it to be considering this is their winter also. Their weather right now ranges from +9 degrees celsius to an average hight of +22 degrees celsius. We usually plan our weekend getaways to Vegas during May, just in time for the bearable heat. I've gone to Vegas in June when they are at the beginning of their hottest temp, and I must say..I shall never do it again. It's way too hot for this chicka. With my flip flops slowly melting on pavement, I'd say it's a no brainer that June is for those who absolutely lalalalove the heat! The temperature can reach a whopping +50 degrees celsius! I've done it before, and I don't think I'll do it again. I barely stepped foot outside the casino doors because I dreaded the suffocating heat wave June brought to Las Vegas! Moving along, here are the outfits I would pack for a 3 night weekend getaway to LAS VEGAS !
I love travelling in long maxi skirts and dresses, it's just so much more comfortable for me. Here are a couple of outfits I'd wear for my flight to Las Vegas, and home ;) . I'm notorious for always being cold, so I never travel without some sort of sweater or jacket. The temperature on the airplane frequently changes , so it's best to be safe than sorry. I always travel in flats as well, you never know when you're going to need to run from one gate to another (tip: pack a pair of your favourite heels in your carry on bag if you want to look extra chic for landing).
When my husband and I travel to Las Vegas, our typical routine is to spend the day shopping, and site seeing! We usually save all the fancy shmancy dinners for the evening. Here are my top 3 outfits for day wear. I typically like to dress pretty comfortable, but that doesn't mean you still can't look cute! I Because the weather is a bit unpredictable in LAS (Las Vegas) this time of the year, I'd normally opt for a pair of cute jeans and a blouse (seen below).
Shoe game. When it comes to travelling to LAS, comfort is definitely key for me. My husband and I love walking up and down the strip, checking out all the lovely shops and entertainment the city has to offer which means TONS of walking. I'd only bring these 3 pairs of shoes with me because knowing us, we are not the club goers we were in our early days lol. The 5 inch stilettos will not be joining us on this trip. However, if I was travelling with my girlfriends on the other hand.........they'd be packed lol. I posted for these 3 neutral colors because they can be matched with any of the dresses I chose. Speaking of the dresses, aren't these dresses so beautiful? Simple and stunning. These dresses make the perfect outfits for dinners, shows or simply walking down the strip and enjoying all the gorgeous lights and scenery. Which one is your favourite?
I hope you enjoyed this edition travel post, I certainly enjoyed writing it! Would you like to see more of these posts? Please comment below! xoxo.
1. Pretty in PINK!
Pink clothing and accessories have literally flooded my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook feed since the last quarter of 2016! Ruffles, frills, off the shoulder tops, long glamorous maxi dresses, you name it. From runways to the latest Golden Globe awards, we've seen heaps of the top bloggers an celebrities rock this color. It's only for breast cancer month anymore! Let's spread the awareness all year long! This color trend is not going anywhere any time soon.
2. Gingham tops and Belled Sleeves
Peace, love and belled sleeves! Let's bring back a glimpse of the 70s! One of my personal favourites is definitely the bell sleeve, and has been since I saw I spotted it in one of my mother's vintage photo albums. It's femininity and free spirit feel is truly alluring. Plain woven cotton cloth tops are women's best friend. It's airy, light, and looks playfully casual. Let's keep this trend on lock, please?
3. Florals (no big surprise, and no comment necessary ) . I love florals, that is all.
4. Cords..and I don't mean corduroy .
Heavy, thick corded tops, skirts and pants. Detailing around the neck, legs and waist, this trend has a sophisticated sexy appeal to it don't you think? Bad girl, gone good? I adore it.
Embroidered anything has a luxe feel to it don't you think? Embroidered hats, jackets, purses, clothing, fans...you name it, you can embroider it. This trend is quite popular right now but I'm curious as to how long it'll stay. Most embroidered clothing I've seen have mostly floral designs to it so I don't exactly see it sticking until the fall. However, having said that...this trend has been pretty poppin' since the second half of 2016 so I could be wrong! It's a trend..it's bound to bounce.
All photos in this blog post were derived from zara.com ! They are all in season and they are all available for purchase! Have fun rocking these trends dolls!
Morphe Brushes - Like any makeup addict, we all have our fair share of makeup brushes. We collect and collect until we have to store them in separate containers according to size. It's really quite difficult for me to part ways with any makeup brush, it usually has to be in the worst state possible until I'll chuck it out. Falling bristles on my face when applying makeup is usually the sign I look for when I need to part ways with my brushes.
Hautelook had an amazing sale on a Morphe brush set called SET 513 MB BLACK MASTER PRO SET just after the holidays a year back and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it after watching all the talented Youtubers rave about these brushes for years. I finally did it and purchased my own set.
Morphe brushes are quite affordable and very comparable to any high end brushes like MAC for example. The set I purchased came with patent red brush holster that neatly fit my brushes, giving me room for my other HG (holy grail) brushes that I use on a daily basis. I actually really love this patent holster that it comes with, it’d definitely handy when you’re doing makeup on your girlfriends or clients!
My overall view on Morphe brushes is that they’re pretty amazing! Believe what your fellow youtubers are saying about the brushes, because they are extremely durable and soft! In this particular set, I received 20 brushes . It’s a pretty amazing to start off with if you are currently looking for a brush set to purchase. They’re so affordable and the quality of each brush is spectacular. So all in all...THE HYPE IS REAL!!
The photos below are from www.morphebrushes.com , this is the set I purchased as well as the names of all the brushes in the set!
Colour Pop Cosmetics has been blowing up my Instagram feed with other bloggers and celebs sporting their mind blowing makeup colours they've been coming out with. Their gorgeous glittery, high intensity coloured eye shadows and highlighters look absolutely stunning in photos that have crossed my Intagram feed which unfortunately makes me weak in the knees. Clearly, I had to get my hands on few of these products. I purchased an assortment of their eyeshadows and liquid matte lipsticks for my first order.
Liquid matte lipsticks are my jam and I have definitely purchased a ton from a handful of brands in the past few years. I purchased a few dark brown colours and and adorable set they came out with for the holidays which had some beautiful berry, red and brick colours. When I first applied one of the liquid lipsticks I noticed how highly pigmented each stroke was. You definitely did not need more than one layer on. Having said that, I immediately found that it was also extremely drying. I was so disappointed with the formula because I really wanted to love this line. Could it possibly be a bad batch? I hope so because I'm so in love with all the gorgeous colors they have!
Their eyeshadows on the other hand.... extremely pigmented!! They also have an amazing selection of gorgeous chromatic colors! I’m definitely going to re purchase their eyeshadows again because of the unique colors they often come out with. The only downfall was that when I brought about 10 of them with me on a trip, and when I landed and was ready to get dolled up, I opened my makeup container to see that the shadows cracked in their containers. They were somewhat easy to fix, all you had to do is press the shadow down and pack it in with your finger .Their texture feels like a hard mousse feel to it.
I've shown a photo below to show you what the eyeshadow looked like cracked, I haven't gone around to fixing all of them since roughly 10 shadows broke in my bag :( .. Their containers don't seem well made which is why they can sell their products for such a decent price at $5.00 USD. The formula is just too amazing not purchase. I can deal with the cracks here and there, that's what rubbing alcohol is for right (if you don't know what I'm talking about leave me a message).
So..OVERALL.. First impression, out of 5: I'd give the liquid matte lipsticks a 1.5 (sad to say) , and their eyeshadows a 4. They hype not he eyeshadows IS REAL , the liquid matte lipsticks...not so much.
Have you tried this line before? Let me know your thoughts on it!

The trench coat is a classic coat that every man and woman should have in their closet. It's the perfect in-between season coat that can be paired with almost any outfit. You can easily dress it up or down, there are not rules with this coat! Here's a fun fact I read about the classic trench:
"The trench coat was created to go to war in. Originally designed in 1895 for British officers fighting in the Boer War, the coat's current form was developed in 1914, for soldiers in WWI. It remains relevant 116 years after it was first designed.
Original military details that persist are the epaulettes, throat latch, hook and bar, back rain shield, the D-ring on the belt, the cuff straps and the storm flap on the right shoulder, which can button over the coat's wrap to keep the rain out. (Source: www.mrporter.com)
Pretty cool hey? Give your wardrobe a stylish update with a classic trench coat. It's an essential piece for this coming spring season. This particular jacket that I'm wearing in this photo is a vintage jacket my mother gave me from the early 80s. The jacket itself is still in pristine condition you would never be able to tell it's vintage, however I unfortunately can't read the brand of the coat. I love the beautiful top stitch detailing, the soft luxurious fabrication, double breasted lapel, the fabric belt and how this jacket is lightly lined. Next time you're on the hunt for a new spring or fall coat, consider the classic trench because I guarantee that it will be a coat that will be in rotation for many season to come.

I hope I don't receive too much slack for posting this... and I know you're thinking "why should a certain day of the year dictate when or how I should show my love some extra affection?" Hear me out. I had an epiphany the other day, which is why I'm making this post. These are the top 4 things that I often hear couples telling me, and here are my responses:
1. "Valentines Day is a gimmick" - I agree. Yes, companies have made billions on this "unnecessary" day, but the fact that love and romance is being advertised as something we need to cherish is in my opinion pretty necessary. Yes companies are monetizing on our love, but they will always find ways to monetize on ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. We don't need to purchase anything and everything that has a heart on it though, do we? No. You can simply buy a slice of his/her favourite cheesecake from a local bakery. It's the thought that counts!
2. "Valentines Day shouldn't be 1 day a year it should be every day." - Unfortunately, in our un-perfect world, Valentines Day cannot be every day, however showing some love and gratitude to your partner on a daily basis can constitute as Valentines Day in their opinion, so hey maybe every day can be Valentines Day!
3. " We've been together forever, we don't do that kind of stuff anymore." - Bam, that's a problem. I know we don't need "a certain day of the year" to give gifts, give extra kisses, plan an important dinner, set some extra time aside for your wife/husband, because in reality, we should all be trying to do that on a weekly basis. Some couples are not as fortunate as others where they have all the time in the world to plan dates. Valentines Day gives them the opportunity to make it a point to do something special for one another. I think for parents especially, Valentines Day is quite important. It's an amazing excuse to get dolled up, have a few hours away from their kids and have some much needed adult time. It's a lovely excuse to just GO ON THAT DATE that you've been waiting weeks if not months to go on.
4. "It's too damn expensive." - Why does Valentines Day need to be expensive? You don't need to take your loved one on a fancy dinner, buy him/her dozens of roses or buy that over priced chocolate heart shaped velvet box they sell at the stores in the beginning of January. Those are all not necessary. Maybe just opt for a nice dinner, or just 3 roses, or a bottle of wine and and a home made appetizer. Be creative.
My father has been giving my mother flowers and Valentines Day cards every year for as long as I can remember, and I remember thinking to myself that my father was the sweetest man alive and that I couldn't believe that he'd always remember to do those two little things for her every year. I think that is pretty amazing. My husband does the same gesture that my father does for my mother and I think it's because he knows that it was something I watched my father do for my mother growing up and it was something he wanted to replicate. We don't do extravagant gifts, or uber fancy dinners, but we definitely make it a point to make a date night out of Valentines Day. We take the time to celebrate us.
I think it's absolutely wonderful that society promotes love and romance on a certain day of the year because quite frankly, with our busy day to day lives, we can easily forget to show our lover how grateful, honoured and devoted we are to to be with them. It's just a nice reminder. What's better than promoting a little love? We all get sidetracked with huge work loads, kids, LIFE and the list goes on. Sometimes we just a need a friendly reminder that we shouldn't take each other for granted, and Valentines Day has the ability to do that. Do you agree with me ?
